Brand – Nutty & Fruity.
So most of us reading this post, will most likely know what the lychee fruit is. If not, feel free to google it.
Growing up in an Asian-American home, we were often fed lychee either fresh, if they were in season or from the can. As a kid, either way was fine because it was sweet so my siblings and I loved it. As an adult, I recommend eating them fresh if you can find it. The canned version is okay too but I find that the flesh of the lychee is often too mushy at this stage because it is preserved in syrup (sugar water).

I was super excited to see another Asian-inspired product on the Costco shelves (boxes) today. The folks at Nutty & Fruity got their packaging down! As having a marketing background, I was immediately drawn to this because of how vibrant and colorful the package was. You got me Nutty & Fruity, Bravo! You got my money and I will not be getting it back.
I like to cut to the chase so here is my honest and unbiased review so you can decide whether or not to spend your hard earned dollas:
Packaging: 100%
Smell: 100% on point – just like what the package says…it smelled like delicious ripe lychee!
Taste: 80% – I would say for someone who did not grow up eating lychee, it may be off-putting since there is a slight “metallic” aftertaste. Not sure if it was from the enclosure of the packaging. I would recommend letting it air out a bit. It also stated on the package that it is “Unsweetened” so for those who were expecting artificially flavored or sweetened dried fruit may be disappointed. I thought it tasted very close to what a lychee would taste like had I left it out in the sun to dry myself.
Texture: 80% – the texture included the rougher area of the lychee close to the pit, which I think is normal but it did not translate well as a dried fruit snack because I found myself enjoying the soft, moist dried flesh areas then doing extra chewing on the rougher parts.

Would I purchase this product again? While it was not a bad product at all, I would most likely chalk this one up as tried it but most likely will choose an alternative product if I were to look for a dried fruit snack to purchase. Have you tried their tamarind snack, though? I will be reviewing that next….stay tuned!
