Costco’s finds: Golden Island’s Pork Jerky! Blunt, honest, and unsponsered (although they can call me anytime) review.

I admit, I get super excited when I roam the snacks aisles at Costco. I felt as though I won the lottery the day I found these! Then to see that they were on sale was like having Ed McMahon (those who don’t know who he is, it’s okay. I just feel old. RIP Ed) deliver the check to you!
Thought I would do a quick review of my honest and unbiased (unsponsored, Golden Island-call me!) review.
Here are the few criteria taken into consideration (rated from 1 to 10, 10 being the highest):
PACKAGING
10 out of 10. I am a sucker for great packaging. This one was bright, clear print and the colorful packaging catches the eye. The see-through window is great because I will not purchase an item that I cannot see the actual product. Would you??
TASTE
9 out of 10. Very good and soft. Well marinated. Definitely on the sweet side. If you did not grow up eating sweet meat (lol) this may be off-putting but as an Asian-American, I actually love it and that is probably why it may be so addictive. Considering other jerky brands I have tried, I am quite impressed with how consistently soft and tender the jerky is, even if left in the car for a couple of days. Eeek! Did I just admit that? Don’t do that, please!

Nutritional Value:
This would be a 1 out of 10. As mentioned, this is a great tasting snack but I will need to add that it may not be the most healthy as it is packed full of sugar. However, I keep these on hand as it is better to have a little protein when you are in a pinch rather than be hangry. I prefer these over a protein bar or worse, some other processed, carb-filled snack.

INGREDIENTS
10 out of 10. The ingredients are simple and straight-forward. Healthy tip: Never buy anything that contains ingredients you cannot pronounce.
PRICE
Definitely a 10 out of 10. Considering the amount of jerky that you get in this 14 oz bag, I paid $9.xx or so for it which is a steal. I believe Costco was having a sale though. The original retail price (from what I can remember) is around $14.
I hope you enjoyed this review and found it helpful. If you click on the photos above, you can also have it delivered to your door if you are not located near a Costco, otherwise, definitely try to pick it up at the store if possible. Far less expensive!
